The IMPC recommends using HCOP to obtain orthologues. HCOP is a tool developed by the HGNC, which compiles predictions made by 12 inference methods (eggNOG, Ensembl Compara, HGNC, HomoloGene, Inparanoid, NCBI Gene Orthology, OMA, OrthoDB, OrthoMCL, Panther, PhylomeDB and TreeFam).
